Our story

My name is Billy

I was born in Cornwall and raised on polzeath beach, from a baby I’ve always been in and around the ocean. However I was also always kicking a ball around too and this is where my path took a huge turn.

At 11 years old I knew that was what I wanted to do with my life, chase the dream of becoming a professional footballer. From the moment we moved to Plymouth for this big dream I was obsessed, it was all I could think about and wanted to do. If it helped me move forwards and progress I wanted to do it and if it held me back I didn’t want to know. It was on my mind 24/7 plus training up to 5 hours a day. I was like this every single moment until the age of 21.

During this time I always craved the ocean, visiting it most evenings whenever I could or had time too. But now I’m back home, getting in nature and the elements as much as possible. Every chance I get to surf, fish, surf, spearfish or forage I will take the chance and I’ve now become obsessed and reunited with this love.

I love the chase, the hunt. Being in the right place at the right time searching for my own food and learning how these crazy sea creatures work and their habbits, where they like to hide or hunt and why? Im completely in the moment when fishing, foraging or spearing, no thoughts anywhere else apart from chasing. But then also this is the same when surfing but its different to me, I’m in the moment but relaxed, having fun.

SoulTee is a way of life for me, all of these elements combined but also my way of coping with the demons that come and go. The ocean frees all of that, whether it’s being on the hunt or surf.

be kind to your mind

Through SoulTee we wish to learn and grow, spreading our love and daily experiences with the ocean. Every time we immerse we are reminded how small we actually are, but also how it connects us all to each other. Either through continents or love for our free and natural soul clearer. In many ways its like us, ever moving and evolving.

When we connect with the ocean whether it’s surfing, fishing, spear fishing, diving or swimming it acts as a reset for our state of mind, but also an easy way to feel stoked. It is much more than just salty water, it really helps with mental wellbeing which is where our “be kind to your mind” originated from.

Also one of our aims of SoulTee was to spread awareness of mental health and highlight ways in which we deal with it best, our way is through getting salty…
